New York's Harlem community hosts a film festival through September 11 that showcases features, documentaries, shorts, youth films and animated works from around the world. Other events include night life, panel discussions, the Brownstone Awards and the Renaissance Awards gala. In addition to showcasing films from around the world, the Festival also features the Harlem Spotlight, which highlights films produced or directed by Harlem residents, films shot in Harlem, or films about Harlem and its history.

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary April 6-9, the 2011 Florida Music Festival & Conference showcases live music, film and visual arts within the cultural community of downtown Orlando, The keynote interview for this year's conference features Melvin Benn of Festival Republic on creating a successful live music event or festival. In an April 9 panel, Aaron Ford, Grooveshark, Alex Ewen, Media/Label, David McKenna, Bonded Records/Film, Jeffrey Hanson, Silent Majority Group, and David Beame, Beame & Mencher, LLP, discuss "The Business of Music." All conference speakers will be available to all performing artists and registered music companies or aspiring music industry students to network with, post conference and throughout the weekend.

The sprawling American Film Market (AFM) practically took over the beach front area at Santa Monica beach. Run in conjunction with the AFI Fest film event, the AFM is a marketplace, and not a convention, where production and distribution deals are closed. The AFM transforms The Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, the Le Merigot Beach Hotel, and many other venues along the Santa Monica beach front area into a busy marketplace where 23 screens on the Santa Monica Promenade and the surrounding community become AFM screening rooms for the entire event.
