Saban Partners with Mattel

Licensemag.com The line includes Barbie and Ken doll apparel and accessories, as well as a Barbie doll bedroom set with Paul Frank branding. The line debuted exclusively at Target stores yesterday. Mattel Acquires HIT Entertainment
On Oct. 24, Mattel announced that it had successfully acquired HIT Entertainment for $680 million. The deal gave Mattel access to HIT’s global portfolio of preschool brands including Thomas & Friends, Barney, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Angelina Ballerina, which generates more than $180 million in revenues.
“Mattel is the right home for Thomas & Friends,” says Robert A. Eckert, chairman and chief executive officer of Mattel. “Thomas & Friends routinely ranks among the world’s leading preschool toys. Additionally, with more than half of the Thomas & Friends revenue generated from non-toy products, this transaction will marry Mattel’s global marketing, distribution and brand management capabilities

Mattel Unveils Stardoll Line

Source: License! Global Weekly E-news Mattel has partnered with online fashion and gaming community Stardoll for the Stardoll by Barbie line of collectible fashion dolls. The partnership marks the Stardoll's first physical doll line. The collection hits shelves this month, and another five dolls will be released this spring.
The initial line includes eight fashion dolls, based on four of the most popular virtual Stardoll stores in Starplaza. The dolls mirror signature poses from the website, as well as rooted eyelashes and unique face and body shapes.
