Merchandising Service

This hasn't change much either, but companies who provide merchandising are taking more control of retail and the impact decision for warehoused brands. Providing DSD Merchandisers with marketing opportunities and overloading warehoused products merchandisers are major issues.

Work ethic has eroded a brands ability to market at retail. Is more shopper insights the answer. In a country that has turned its back on the labor that got this brands and retailers where they are today, its a shame that culture change can't take place.

The Top Concerns for Suppliers:

Profitable Growth

Shifting Personnel/Priorities

Store Level Execution

Joint Planning

So in the last 20 years the top concerns are the same top concerns?? What does that have to say for the great success, revenue, and promotions that have concurred with Wal-Mart???

That fact of the matter is companies have to have the sales and action on their brands at Wal-Mart. Companies are still having a difficult time managing the business model they have to have for Wal-Mart within their corporate relationship with other customers.

Wal-Mart either doesn't care or has extreme silo's in their corporate structure that many suppliers have had for years that have caused isolation to these problems.

This week I will talk about the recently published Supplier survey that was Published by Retailing Today. I have not called on Wal-Mart per say for a while , but I have many dear friends who work there and I am in constant contact with.

I will say that as a consultant I am always having to state "my findings" to my clients as to help them see different shades, landscapes and to constantly "tell the truth". I give opinions, that are given from factbased data and from the gut. I certainly want to have a long relationship but will not sacrifice telling the truth. I have gained many great clients and lost many with those principles, but have always had the respect of all as I have of them.
